How to request account and data deletion

        You can request permanent deletion of your ClubsChess account and its associated personal data at any time. This applies whether you signed up directly, or via Google or Facebook.
    

1. How to Request Deletion

Send an email to support@clubschess.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request", and include your ClubsChess username.

Request Account Deletion

We verify each request against the account on file before processing, to prevent someone else from deleting your account on your behalf. We aim to complete verified requests within 7 days.

2. What Gets Deleted

Once your request is verified, we permanently delete or anonymise:

Your username, email address, and password
Profile information — avatar, bio, country, club membership
Game history, ratings, and statistics
Chat messages and friend connections tied to your account

3. What We May Retain

Some information may be retained for a limited period after deletion, where required for legal, accounting, or security purposes — for example:

Payment records (subscriptions/purchases via PayFast), retained as required by South African tax and accounting law
Records needed to investigate abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms & Conditions that occurred before deletion

This retained data is not used to re-identify you for any other purpose and is kept only as long as legally necessary.

4. Partial Deletion / Data Access
